The first documented use of hyperbaric oxygen therapy, or HBOT, was in 1662. It didn’t gain traction until the 1930s when the US Navy began using it to treat scuba divers with decompression sickness (the bends).
Since then, there have been over 800 clinical studies conducted on the therapy, with benefits ranging from treatment of chronic wounds, infections, mold exposure, autism, traumatic brain injury, stroke, diabetes, and more.
Dr. Scott Sherr is an integrative medicine practitioner that has
been studying HBOT for over a decade. He utilizes HBOT, methylene
blue and other modalities in his practice to help bring people back
into balance and improve their quality of life.
In this interview he talks about neuroplasticity, hypoxic inducible
factor, EZ water, mitochondria and oxygen overall as it works in
the body. He also clears up a lot of the misconceptions about
hyperbaric oxygen therapy.
